No. 54 SMU downs women?s tennis, 4-3

In singles action, the Mustangs (13-4) clinched the match after Jennifer Chay defeated Myrthe Molenveld 6-0, 6-4 at No. 2.
The Cajuns picked up three of the six singles matches with wins from Tammy Day at No. 1, Laura Martelli at No.5 and Angela Dangond at No. 6. Day defeated Natalia Bubien 7-6 (8-6), 6-0, 12-10, while Martelli defeated Georgiana Marta 7-5, 6-4. Dangond posted a 6-2, 5-7, 8-4 (10-4) victory over Kristen Reid.
Clemence Remy dropped her match to Claire Rietsch 6-0, 6-4 at No. 3, while Chanell Meijer fell to Pavi Francis 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4.
SMU picked up the doubles point with wins at Nos. 1 and 3. UL's Dangond and Molenveld downed Chay and Francis 8-4 at No. 2.
The Cajuns return to action Tuesday, April 3 to take on conference foe
