Cajuns down Terriers 4-3MIAMI, Fla.-Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team topped Boston University
4-3 on Friday at University Park on the campus of Florida International to improve to
12-6 on the year.
The Cajuns clinched the doubles point after winning at Nos. 1 and 2. The doubles point
was the deciding factor in the match after the Cajuns spit with the Terriers (8-3) in singles
play.
Tammy Day and Chanell Meijer defeated Erin Katims and Francine Whu 8-3 at No. 1,
while the doubles team of Angela Dangond and Myrthe Molenveld topped Rebecca Row
and Cori Lefkowith 8-1 at No. 2.
The Cajuns recorded singles wins from Day, Molenveld and Angela Dangond. Day defeated
Erin Katims 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 at No.1, while Molenveld topped Yana Sadovskaya 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 at
No. 2. Dangond downed Liz Corrao 6-2, 6-4 at No. 6.
Clemence Remy fell to Row 3-6, 4-6 at No. 3, and Chanell Meijer was defeated by Boston's Whu 1-6, 2-6 at No. 4. Laura Martelli dropped her match to Lefkowith 4-6, 5-7 at No. 5.
The Cajuns face conference rival Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton on Sunday, March 25.
