MIAMI, Fla.-Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team fell to No. 29 Florida International 7-0 in a match that was delayed four and a half hours due to rain. The loss drops the Cajuns to 11-6 on the season.FIU's Priscilla Castillo clinched the match for the Golden Panthers after defeating Angela Dangond 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6.
Tammy Day dropped her match to No. 123 Paula Zabala 6-3, 7-6 at No. 1, and Myrthe Molenveld fell to Egle Petrauskaite 7-6, 7-6 at No. 2.
Chanell Meijer was defeated by Shilla D'Armas 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3, while FIU's
Marijana Cutuk defeated Clemence Remy 6-2, 6-4 at No. 4. Laura Martellidropped her match to Maria Dolores Pazo 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5.
In doubles action, Day and Meijer fell to Zabala and Nikkita Fountain 8-6 at
No. 1, and Molenveld and Remy dropped their match to Petrauskaite and Castillo 8-1 at No. 2. The Golden Panthers' D'Armas and Pazo defeated Martelli and Dangond 8-1 at No. 3.
The Cajuns face Boston University in Miami on Friday, March 23.
