LAFAYETTE- Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team recorded a 6-1 victory over
In singles action, the Cajuns took five of the six matches. Tammy Day defeated Kaltrina Harbuzi 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 1 position, and Chanell Meijer posted a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Tanya Roberts at the No. 2 position.
Myrthe Molenveld recorded a 6-4, 7-5 victory over Andrea Martinez at the No. 3 position while Laura Martelli triumphed over Maria Gutierrez 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 4 position. Angela Dangond defeated Pamela Martinez 4-6, 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 5 spot.
Kimmie Lyles had the only loss of the afternoon for the Cajuns, falling to Manami Kuroda 6-4, 1-6, 9-11 at the No. 6 position.
In doubles action, the Cajuns won two of the three matches. Day and Meijer defeated Harbuzi and Roberts 8-3 at the No. 1 spot while Molenveld and Clemence Remy posted an 8-6 victory over P. Martinez and Manizee Ashrafi at the No. 2 position.
Lamar's Gutierrez and Kuroda defeated Lyles and Dangond 8-6 at the No. 3 position.
The Cajuns will be on the road Wednesday, Feb. 21 to take on Ole Miss.
