LAFAYETTE ? A night after falling to the Sun Belt Conference's first-place team, Louisiana didn't fare much better against the league's season-place team as the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders defeated the Ragin' Cajuns 3-0 (30-12, 30-14, 30-25) Saturday night.

The loss set the Cajuns back to 3-24 overall with a 2-10 Sun Belt mark, while Middle Tennessee improved to 23-2 and 10-1 in conference play.

Junior Elizabeth Inman (Fort Worth, Texas) led all players with 13 kills, registeing a .242 attack percentage on the night. Caroline Dufrene (Lake Charles, La.) added six kills and four blocks.

Senior Erika Castro (San Antonio, Texas) had a team-high nine digs and needs just eight more to move into second place on the school's all-time list. Kendra Hall (Dallas, Texas), who paced the offense with 22 assists, passed Jay Rayman (1,669) for fourth place on the school's career assists list.

Middle Tennessee, which posted 40 kills in three games, was led by Ashley Asberry and Izabela Kozon, who each tallied eight kills.

Middle Tennessee frustrated Louisiana's offense all night as the Blue Raiders forced 12 Cajuns errors in game one en route to a 30-12 triumph. UL hit a dismal -.346 in the frame, registering just three kills on 26 total attacks. Middle, on the other hand, tallied 12 kills, while committing one error, for a .550 attack percentage.

Louisiana's misfortunes continued in game two as Middle Tennessee posted 15 kills for a .393 attack percentage, while holding the Cajuns to .062. UL registered nine kills to seven errors in the second frame.

It wasn't until game three that the Ragin' Cajuns were able to challenge Middle Tennessee. Neither team hit particularly well in the third game with the Blue Raiders besting the Cajuns with a .068 attack percentage.

The Cajuns jumped out to a 14-10 lead thanks to Inman, who tallied seven of her 13 kills in the final game. However, Middle Tennessee would eventually overtake UL as the Blue Raiders held on for the 30-25 win.

Louisiana will conclude its six-match homestand Friday, Oct. 26, when it hosts the New Orleans Privateers for a 7 p.m. match at Earl K. Long Gym.
