TROY, Ala. - Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns Sun Belt title hopes were put in serious jeopardy thanks to a 42-28 loss at Troy on Saturday. The loss drops UL to 4-4 (1-2), while the Trojans remain unbeaten in conference play 4-4 (3-0).

Louisiana tied the game on their first possession of the second half, but would never take the lead.

Tyrell Fenroy busted a season-long 39-yard run on the Cajuns first play before catching a 41-yard touchdown pass from Jerry Babb two plays later.

Fenroy's first career touchdown catch knotted the game at 21-21 with 11:33 left in the third quarter.

Troy re-took the lead on one play and never looked back. On third-and-10 from the Trojans 42-yard line, Omar Haugabook hit Gary Banks with a nine-yard pass. Banks made two Cajuns miss and then raced untouched into the end zone for a 58-yard touchdown.

The Trojans converted after a Cajuns miscue to take a 14-point lead. Babb's next pass went through the hands of Jason Chery and was intercepted by Terence Moore at the Cajuns 24-yard line.

Troy moved 24 yards in four plays, scoring on an eight-yard run by Kenny Cattouse. During the drive, Louisiana's Wes Simon recovered a fumble at the 10-yard line, but a video review overturned the fumble.

The video overturn was just the fifth in the Sun Belt this season.

The Cajuns moved within seven points after Babb directed a seven-play, 81-yard scoring drive spanning the third and fourth quarters. The key play was a 51-yard pass to Derrick Smith on third-and-seven from the UL 22-yard line. Babb also completed a seven-yard pass to Smith and a 14-yard pass to Phillip Nevels on third-and-10. Babb finished the drive off with a 13-yard touchdown run.

The Cajuns trailed 35-28 with 13:55 remaining in the game.

Louisiana had the ball on their 41-yard line with 11:13 to play, but couldn't convert on third-and-one from midfield. Troy took possession on their six-yard line and marched 94 yards in 12 plays, burning 6:53 off the clock. Julian Foster finished the drive with a 15-yard touchdown run with 2:11 remaining to seal the victory.

Cattouse finished the night with 172 rushing yards on just 24 attempts. He is the first rusher to gain over 100 yards against the Cajuns this season.

Babb had 230 passing yards, 31 rushing yards and three total touchdowns. Fenroy finished the night with 18 carries for 95 yards. Smith led all players with 82 receiving yards.

On their first possession of the game, the Trojans picked-up two first downs into Cajuns territory until a Cattouse fumble was recovered by Michael Desormeaux.

Babb's first pass on the ensuing drive was complete to Smith into Troy territory. Babb then completed passes of 11 yards to Chery and 19 yards to Corey Fredrick. After a Fenroy rush for two yards, Babb connected with Nevels on a 15-yard touchdown pass.

Drew Edmiston's extra point put the Cajun in front 7-0 with 6:04 remaining in the first quarter. The score marked the sixth time in the last seven conference games that the Cajuns have put points on the board before their opponent.

The Cajuns got the ball back in Troy territory after Lamar Morgan's first interception of the season.

Desormeaux and running back Deon Wallace entered the game and marched the Cajuns 34 yards in four plays. Wallace did most of the work, carrying three times for 27 yards, including a 10-yard touchdown run.

Troy responded with a six-play, 68-yard scoring drive to cut the Cajuns lead in half. Cattouse had three rushes for 44 yards before Justin Brooks capped the drive with a one-yard touchdown plunge.

A 53-yard punt return by Leodis McKelvin set-up the Trojans second score. Haugabook's 13-yard scramble led to a seven-yard scoring run by Cattouse.

Troy's two scores in a 4:10 span tied the game at 14-14 with 7:31 remaining in the second quarter.

A 15-yard facemask penalty on the Cajuns next punt led to the Trojans beginning another drive in Cajuns territory. The hosts needed just three plays to move 43 yards and score their third touchdown of the quarter.

Haugabook's 15-yard touchdown run gave TU at 21-14 lead with 4:53 left in the first half.

Michael Adams returned a punt 25 yards to midfield with 26 seconds remaining in the half, but the Cajuns could only muster four yards before time expired. The punt return was the longest allowed by Troy this season, as the Trojans entered the game second in the nation allowing just 1.7 yards per punt return with a previous long of 13 yards.
