TUCSON, Ariz. - Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns softball team tagged OU pitchers Kami Keiter and Jessica Johnson for 18 hits and scored 12 runs en route to forcing an if necessary game for the right to advance to the WCWS.

Every hitter in the starting lineup had at least one hit led by Ashley Evans and Crystal George who each finished with two hits. Tiffany Hebert and Joy Webre each had a team-high three RBI. UL Lafayette's 2-3-4 hitters combined to go 7-for-13.

Brooke Mitchell tossed her fifth complete game of the regional allowing four runs off nine hits while striking out six.

The win was the Cajuns 60th of the season which extends the program record and makes the 2004 team the first in program history to amass 60 wins.

Louisiana-Lafayette (60-7) struck first in the second inning. Evans led off the Cajuns at bat with a double off the center field wall and later moved to second on a throwing error by OU second baseman April Valdez.

Evans scored when George laced an RBI single into left field.

The Cajuns opened a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning thanks to a double from Webre that scored two more runs. Back-to-back-to-back singles from Brittany Bryant, Evans and Lacey Bertucci loaded the bases and Webre brought two home with her base hit.

OU fought back to reclaim the lead with a three-spot in the bottom of the fifth inning after a RBI double from Jamie Fox got the Sooners on the board in the fourth inning.

The Cajuns bounced back and reclaimed the lead with four runs off of three hits in the sixth inning to take a 7-4 lead.

Louisiana-Lafayette ended any doubts about the outcome of the contest when the Cajuns sent 10 batters to the plate, racked up seven hits and scored five runs.

A solo home run from Bryant started the wheels for the Cajuns and made it 8-4. Four batters later another double from Webre plated Evans who picked up her third hit of the day on a single after Bryant's blast.

Hillary Guidry followed with a bunt single to load the bases and Hebert cleared the path with a double into the left field corner to increase the Cajuns lead to 12-4.

The Cajuns touched OU ace Kami Keiter for eight runs off of 12 hits.
