ORLANDO, Fla. – Louisiana's
Ragin' Cajuns men's basketball team participated in its
first and only practice at the TD Waterhouse Centre here

afternoon
hitting the hardwood for an hour.
Following the practice senior Brad Boyd and juniors Brian Hamilton and Orien Greene fielded questions from the media members on hand at a post-practice press conference.
The Ragin' Cajuns (20-8) begin play in the 2004 NCAA Tournament Friday, March 19 at 11:15 a.m. (CT) against No. 3 seed N.C. State (20-9). The game will be telecast regionally on CBS Sports (channel 10, cable 11 in Lafayette). SportsRadio ESPN 1420-AM will have the call over the radiowaves.
The Ragin' Cajuns are making their eighth (8th) NCAA Tournament appearance in school history, second under head coach Jessie Evans and fourth since the field was expanded to 64 in 1985.
The Cajuns are the only team from Louisiana to make it to the “Big Dance” this season.
Louisiana-Lafayette is 4-8 all-time in seven previous appearances. The Cajuns last tournament win came during the 1992 event when the 13th-seeded Cajuns of then-USL downed fourth-seeded Oklahoma 87-83 in Tempe, Ariz.
The Wolfpack is making its third straight NCAA Tournament appearance. NCSU owns wins over Duke and swept Georgia Tech, but has lost three of its last five games.
The last time N.C. State was a No. 3 seed was 1988 when 14th seed Murray State defeated the Wolfpack 78-75. NCSU is 3-2 as a third seed and 1-2 under head coach Herb Sendek.
