LAFAYETTE – Louisiana-Lafayette senior guard Laurie Bridges turned in two of his best career performances last week and deservingly so was named the Sun Belt Conference's Player of the Week on Monday.

Bridges averaged a double-double last week in wins over North Texas and Denver, averaging 12.5 points and 13.5 rebounds per game, as the Ragin' Cajuns (13-5, 8-1 Sun Belt) extended their season-high win streak to seven games.

He had 13 points and 13 boards Thursday against North Texas for his first career double-double. He followed it up with 12 points and 14 rebounds against Denver on Saturday for his second straight double-double.

Prior to last week's games, Bridges had never recorded a double-double.
