NEW ORLEANS-On a night where the shots wouldn't fall, Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns dropped a 68-54 decision at New Orleans on Saturday night.

The Cajuns shot just 25 percent, including a 6-for-26 clip (23%) at the
three-point line.

Louisiana-Lafayette falls to 14-6, 9-2, while New Orleans improves to 12-11, 6-4.

For the second straight game, and fifth time this season, the Cajuns found
themselves trailing at the half.

After a quick bucket by Laurie Bridges to open the half, UNO went on a 10-2 run in the first four minutes of the second half to build a 42-33 lead.

The host's lead grew to 46-34 at the 14:10 mark before the Cajuns used a
10-0 run to climb back into the game. A three-pointer by Brad Boyd sparked the jolt of offense. Dwayne Mitchell followed with two thunderous dunks, the later coming on a long ally-oop from Boyd. Boyd then finished the run with another three-pointer.

Two straight lay-ups by Bo McCalebb surged UNO to a 51-45 lead. A
three-pointer by Kyle Buggs pushed the Privateers' lead to nine.

Over the next five minutes the Cajuns failed to significantly cut into the
Privateers' advantage as UNO held a 58-51 lead with 3:57 remaining.

Victor Brown and Kentrell Martin gave UNO a 62-51 lead with 1:52 left in the game.

The Cajuns couldn't find any offense, as Bridges' three-pointer was the only basket UL Lafayette would get in the final five minutes.

Bridges led the Cajuns with 21 points. No other Cajun hit double figures in
scoring.

New Orleans was led by a trio of players in double figures. Buggs finished
with 20 points, while McCalebb added 19 points and Martin added 10. Brown recorded a game-high 12 rebounds.

Cold shooting by the Cajuns and New Orleans' dominance on the boards
contributed to UNO's 32-29 halftime lead.

Those in favor of foul shots would have enjoyed the opening 5:26 of the
contest. A total of 12 personal fouls were called, as the Cajuns hit seven
free throws en route to a 7-6 lead.

Following the plethora of free throws, the Cajuns used a 9-3 run to jump out to a 16-9 lead at 11:52 of the first half.

UNO came back to tie the game at 18-18 and then used three baskets by Buggs to build a 25-19 advantage.

The Privateers held their six-point edge, 28-22, before the Cajuns used a
7-2 run to climb within one-point 30-29 with 1:19 left in the first half.

McCalebb's lay-up as time winded down gave New Orleans a three-point lead at the break.
