Last Time Out...Feb. 7, 2004 vs. Denver

LAFAYETTE – Antoine Landry scored 18 points, while Laurie Bridges added 12 points and 14 rebounds, as Louisiana-Lafayette defeated Denver 94-74 on Saturday night. The Ragin' Cajuns (13-5, 8-1 Sun Belt) had six players who scored in double figures, including Brad Boyd with 15, Brian Hamilton 13, Orien Greene 12 and Dwayne Mitchell 11. Boyd was 5-of-6 from 3-point range and Landry hit four from long range. The Cajuns were 12-of-22 from long distance as a team and shot 52 percent from the floor overall. Erik Benzel scored 18, including five 3-pointers, for Denver (13-8, 5-4), which trailed 47-35 at the half. Carvell McAlister and Antonio Porch each added 12 points for the Pioneers. Louisiana-Lafayette outrebounded Denver 39-28...The Ragin' Cajuns took a slim one-point lead (23-22) off a Chris Cameron layup with 7:43 left in the first half. An old-fashioned 3-point play by Brian Hamilton made the score 33-29 with just 3:31 remaining. The Cajuns finished the first half on a 14-6 run, holding a 47-35 lead at the intermission. The Ragin' Cajuns came out of the gate on fire hitting five 3-point buckets in the first six minutes of the half. Boyd showed no signs of slowing early in the second half as he nailed another pair of threes 36 seconds apart giving the home team an 18 point lead after one minute of play. Boyd's hot hand woke up the Pios' old nemesis Antoine Landry. Landry went on an 11-point tear starting at the 17:54 mark. Antoine's outburst began with a 2-point jumper and culminated with a trio of treys with 14:40 left to play as the Cajuns led 64-46.

Last Time vs. USA...Jan. 15, 2004 in Lafayette

LAFAYETE – Louisiana-Lafayette committed a season-high 20 turnovers in the game, none more costly than an errant pass by Laurie Bridges with nine seconds remaining with the Ragin' Cajuns trailing by one point, as South Alabama escaped with a 76-73 victory. Malerick Bedden scored a game-high 18 points for the Jaguars (7-7, 2-1 Sun Belt) including the game-winning basket with 19 seconds left to play. Bedden put back a missed layup by Shane Spencer to give USA a 74-73 lead – its first lead since the 17-minute mark of the second half. The Cajuns (6-5, 1-1 Sun Belt) had a chance to setup an attempt for the winning basket. After the inbounds pass following a timeout, Bridges was penetrating inside the wing when he decided to dish the ball back out on the perimeter. The only problem was no one from UL Lafayette was on the receiving end of the pass and it landed out-of-bounds turning the ball back over to the Jaguars. Richard Law was fouled on the ensuing inbounds pass by USA and was sent to the charity stripe with seven seconds on the clock. Law made both freebies to extend the USA lead to 76-73. On Louisiana-Lafayette's return possession, Dwayne Mitchell opted for the quick layup for two points, but his attempt rolled off the rim and the clock expired on the Cajuns.
