Statistical Recap

LAFAYETTE- Despite stopping two all-time losing streaks in the past week, Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns remain winless all-time against Middle Tennessee, falling to the Lady Raiders 72-57 on Saturday afternoon at Earl K. Long Gym.

UL Lafayette, 10-8 (4-3), falls to 0-6 lifetime against Middle
Tennessee, 14-5 (4-2).

Two quick baskets by Middle Tennessee in the opening minute of the
second half gave the Lady Raiders a 37-23 lead.

The Cajuns needed offense, but couldn't find it anywhere. After the
Cajuns hole grew deeper, two straight three-pointers by Bernette Tolston and a lay-up by Sharee Glenn helped UL Lafayette bring their deficit down to 12 points with 7:02 to play.

The Cajuns, however, had no answer for Patrice Holmes and Keisha
McClinic. After two free throws by McClinic, Holmes knocked down another long three-pointer.

Anna Petrakova and Tolston countered for the Cajuns, but McClinic grabbed an offensive board and converted and Holmes hit another three-pointer in between a free throw by Glenn. The MT spurt gave the Lady Raiders a 64-47 lead with 2:42 remaining.

Holmes led all players with 23 points, including five three-pointers.
McClinic scored 19 points and led all players with 13 rebounds.

Petrakova led the Cajuns with 18 points, eight rebounds, four blocks,
three steals and three assists. Glenn added 12 points and true freshman Alexandra Kotta had her second straight strong game off the bench, recording 11 points, three rebounds, two steals and a block in 21 minutes.

The Cajuns jumped out to a quick 7-2 lead thanks to a couple of baskets by Tiffany Washington and a three-pointer by Glenn.

MT stormed back thanks to hot shooting from Holmes. Holmes scored 10 points on the Lady Raiders 15-6 run that gave the visitors a 17-13 lead with 8:38 left in the opening half.

The Cajuns could not slow the Lady Raiders, as MT's lead continued to
grow. The final media timeout of the first half showed the Cajuns down 28-19 with 2:41 remaining.

The Cajuns could not cut into their nine-point deficit and trailed
32-23 at the half.
