The loss ended a two-match win streak for Louisiana-Lafayette (6-19, 2-10 Sun Belt) and kept them winless on the opponent's home court this season.

With the win, NMSU (24-4, 12-0 Sun Belt) captured its 18th straight victory overall and extended its Sun Belt win streak to 15 matches.

Sophomore Elina Salomaki turned in a team-best 12 kills on a .379 hitting percentage for the Ragin' Cajuns. Salomaki extended her streak of matches with double-digit kills to six.
