Cajuns Drop Fourth Straight Match

COLLEGE STATION, Texas –Louisiana-Lafayette's Ragin' Cajun volleyball team's offensive struggles continued here at the 2002 McDonald's Texas A&M Verizon Invitational at G. Rollie White Coliseum Friday night.

BYU handed Coach Becky Madden's squad a 3-0 (30-28, 30-22, 30-17) loss, the Cajuns' fourth-straight overall and in straight sets. UL Lafayette has now lost 12 straight sets dating back to last Friday's 3-0 loss at Rice.

Once again the Cajuns (4-4) fell victim to errors, committing 28 attack errors and seven service errors.

The Cougars (4-5) were led by April Varner who had 15 kills. BYU had an attack percentage of .377 to UL Lafayette's .115. The Cougars attack percentage never dipped below .300 the entire match.

Leading the way for the Cajuns was Stacey Cole who notched 18 kills, tying her season-high. Priscilla Lima had a double-double, posting 13 kills and collecting 10 digs.

Louisiana-Lafayette returns to action Saturday with a 1 p.m. match against host Texas A&M and a 5 p.m. tournament finale against Sam Houston State.
