MONROE, LA
- Louisiana-Monroe defeated Louisiana-Lafayette 34-10 in the season finale for both teams. Both teams finish the season with a 3-9 (2-4) record.

For the fourth straight game, UL Lafayette fell behind early. UL Monroe cashed in on several miscues by the Cajuns en route to a 14-0 lead after one quarter. The Indians had just 13 net offensive yards, but 14 point on the scoreboard.

The Indians opened the scoring after a short punt by the Cajuns from their own end zone, ULM started on the Cajuns 33-yard line. The Indians used ten plays and two Cajuns penalties to score on a one-yard touchdown run by Bryant Jacobs.

The Cajuns utilized a 15-yard punt return by Andre George to start in excellent field position on the Indians 46-yard line. Jon Van Cleave replaced Eric Rekieta at quarterback and threw an interception on his first pass attempt. The ball was returned by Derrick McGill 42 yards for a touchdown, giving Louisiana-Monroe a 14-0 lead.

UL Lafayette put points on the board after a 45-yard completion to Fred Stamps led to a career long 50-yard field goal by Sean Comiskey.

UL Monroe increased their lead to 21-3 on a 10-yard touchdown pass from Steven Jyles to Justin Ebersole. A 26-yard scramble by Jyles was the key play on the Indians five-play, 54-yard drive that covered 1:48.

The second half saw little offense from the Cajuns. Rekieta and Van Cleave alternated at quarterback, but neither was able to generate any momentum.

The Indians scored a touchdown early in the fourth quarter on an 18-yard reception from Jyles to Mack Vincent. The score increased the ULM lead to 28-3, putting the game out of reach for UL Lafayette.

With less than two minutes remaining, Stamps caught an 11-yard touchdown pass from Van Cleave. The score gave Stamps 1,002 yards for the season, making him only the second player in school history to reach the milestone.
