Luc Godin rejoined the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Men's Tennis program in August 2026, bringing with him a wealth of coaching experience. Previously, Godin served as Associate Head Coach at the University of Washington for two seasons, where he helped elevate the Huskies into the national top 40 and guided the team to its first NCAA Championships appearance since 2022.
During his tenure at Washington, the Huskies posted a 17-9 record in their inaugural Big Ten season, finishing fourth in the conference and advancing to the Big Ten Championship semifinals. The team ended the season ranked No. 37 nationally, its highest year-end ranking since 2013.
Notable individual achievements included Cesar Bouchelaghem's run at the NCAA Singles Championship, where he finished the season ranked No. 42, and Dzianis Zharyn's No. 121 year-end singles ranking.
Godin was also instrumental in recruiting a projected top-25 class for 2026 and developing a nationally ranked doubles team.
Before his time in Seattle, Godin made a significant impact at Louisiana as associate head coach from 2017-20 and then as the program's 10th head coach in 2021.
Under his leadership, the Ragin' Cajuns were consistently ranked in the national rankings, notching impressive wins over ranked opponents and achieving a 13th consecutive season with a .500 record or better.
The team made deep runs in the Sun Belt Conference Championships and finished among the state's highest-ranked programs, highlighted by a 17-win campaign in 2022 and a No. 61 finish in the ITA poll.
Godin's extensive experience also spans collegiate programs at Arkansas and Auburn, where he played key roles in dramatic program turnarounds and postseason successes.
At Arkansas, he was a finalist for the 2016 NCAA Division I Assistant Coach of the Year and helped the team rise to No. 12 nationally; at Auburn, he contributed to one of the NCAA’s biggest single-season improvements, seeing the program go from being unranked to peaking at number 13 in the country and finishing the year in the top 25.
As a head coach at Northwestern State and Drury University, Godin guided his teams to conference finals and championships and developed numerous All-Conference selections and nationally ranked players.
Godin’s earlier coaching roles included a successful stint as assistant coach at Tyler Junior College, where he contributed to five national team championships. His efforts produced 11 All-Americans, two National Player of the Year recipients, and a legacy of excellence through data-driven coaching.
A native of Petit-Rocher, New Brunswick, Canada, Godin competed in futures and semi-pro circuits in North and Central America before turning to coaching.
He holds a bachelor's degree in Science from the University of the Ozarks (2006), a master's degree in Health and Human Performance from Northwestern State University (2009), and a doctoral degree in Education (2024) from the same institution.
