After 12 years in virtually every behind-the-scenes job possible within the UL athletics department, John Dugas was named as UL's event management coordinator on August 1, 2006. Dugas has been part of UL's game-day staff since September 1994, working in event staffing, script writing,venue preparation, stadium and arena security, and ticket operations. He also spearheaded the development of the athletic department's web site, RaginCajuns.com, while working with UL's unique Athletic Network web site.
Dugas was promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics for Internal Affairs in November 2007, and Associate Director of Athletics for Internal Affairs in 2013. In 2017, Dugas was named Associate Athletics Director for Facilities and Event Management.
A 2002 Louisiana graduate, Dugas was a teacher and coach at Scott Middle School for three years prior to his fulltime appointment. He had also worked as human resources manager at International Plant Containers and as a field technician for SLEMCO before returning to earn his degree.
Dugas has three daughters, Courtney, Jessie, and Josie.
