Lana Bowers

A midseason hire in 2013, Lana Bowers was brought on by coach Michael Lotief as an assistant coach after a stellar playing career with Louisiana Softball from 2007-10.

A three-time All-Sun Belt selection as a catcher, Bowers finished her career with the Ragin’ Cajuns as one of the top-five defensive players of all time in Louisiana’s history. As a player, she played in the NCAA Regionals all four years, the NCAA Super Regionals in 2008 and 2010, and the 2008 Women’s College World Series.

Most recently she was an assistant coach at Teurlings Catholic High School and gave private softball lessons to young girls in the Lafayette area.

After her time with the Ragin’ Cajuns, Lana continued to play softball with Competitive Edge International, a Christian based Sports Ministry that traveled to Asia. She went overseas with the team in 2010 and 2011 as a player, and again in 2012 as a coach.
