2012 (Sophomore): Returned from major knee surgery to share the kickoff duties with Brett Baer. . . played in 10 games, including three in which he handled every kickoff. . . kicked off 40 times for 2,509 yards, a 62.7 average with 13 touchbacks. . . excelled at kick coverage, ranking second on the team with eight tackles (seven solo). . . had two tackle games against Tulane (10/6/12), South Alabama (11/24/12) and Florida Atlantic (12/1/12). . . kicked off eight times 61.8 average and two touchbacks in the New Orleans Bowl, making two solo tackles. . . earned second letter.
2011 (Freshman): Played in the first eight games of the season before suffering a season-ending knee injury against WKU (10/22). . . handled the kickoff chores, averaging 60.3 yards in 47 kickoffs with one touchback. . . earned the team’s special teams player of the week for his efforts vs. Troy (10/8). . . earned first letter.
2010 (Redshirt): Redshirted to retain his freshman eligibility. . . named to the Sun Belt Conference Honor Roll.
High School: All-state kicker as a junior at Notre Dame High, playing for coach Lewis Cook, a former UL assistant coach. . . two-time all-district, all-parish and All-Acadiana as a kicker and linebacker/safety. . . put 78 percent of his kickoffs (65-of-83) into the end zone and logged 83 tackles, six forced fumbles and five sacks as a senior. . . earned All-State honors as a kicker with 77 touchbacks as a junior. . . made a 58-yard field goal in the quarterfinals of the state tourney, helping team to a second place finish. . . played in 2010 Bayou Bowl, making four tackles and returning a blocked punt 29 yards for a touchdown. . . was tabbed as the event’s player of the week in a voting of the coaches.
Personal: Born Aug. 30, 1991 in Abbeville, La. . . . son of Smokey and Connie Stover. . . has one brother (Stu) and one sister (Brittany). . . his grandfather, Stewart “Smokey” Stover, played for the Dallas Texans and Kansas City Chiefs (1960-1966). . . geology major.
