Sherry LeBas has been with the Louisiana athletics program since 1975 and has served as Senior Woman Administrator for more than three decades. In 1983, she assumed additional responsibilities as an Assistant Athletics Director and was promoted to Associate Athletics Director in 2008.
For seven seasons, LeBas served as head coach of the Ragin' Cajuns volleyball team, while also serving as tennis coach during her career before stepping down from coaching duties in 1985 to devote her full attention to administrative duties.
The Opelousas, La. native is in charge of the event management of the various athletics teams, as well as serving as the administrative advisor for the Student- Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). She also monitors the department's compliance with Title IX regulations.
In change of Ragin' Cajuns women's athletics since their inception, LeBas has tremendous growth from three sports to eight.
A 1971 graduate of UL in physical education and dance, she received her master's degree in education in 1973. She was a member of the UL dance team and participated in several athletics programs as a student. She is the mother of one son, Robbie.
