Study Hall Rules & Regulations

The Study Hall is located on the Mezzanine floor of the Conference Center.  The Study Hall / Computer Lab is located in rooms 172 and 173.  Tutoring and Academic Coaching Program sessions will be held in rooms 171 or 174.  All rooms are maintained, staffed, and supervised by the Student Athlete Academic Center.

• The Study Hall will be in operation from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday.  It is open on Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon and Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

• The use of cell phones will be prohibited in the Study Hall and while meeting with tutors and academic coaches.  All cell phones must be turned off (not on vibrate) and stored in a book bag, purse, etc. (i.e. out of sight).  NOTE:  If the cell phone is seen and/or heard, the student-athlete will be checked out of study hall, his/her time will be deleted for that day, and the student-athlete will be asked to leave the facility.  NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

• Food and beverages are prohibited from the computer lab. 

• No tobacco or tobacco products (dip/chew) are allowed in the study areas.  Tobacco is a banned substance according to the NCAA.

• All student-athletes assigned to study hours must sign in and sign out properly or risk having that time rejected.  If you leave the Study Hall for ANY reason (e.g. going to the bathroom), you must check out and check back in when you return.  If our staff discovers you are checked in, but we cannot locate you, your time will be deleted. NO EXCUSES!

• The Study Hall / Computer Lab, rooms 172 and 173, are intended as a quiet study area and talking will not be tolerated.  Discussion is permitted in the tutoring and academic coaching areas, rooms 171 and 174, but limited to academic-related conversation.

• Headphones are not allowed in the study areas unless they are used in some academic-related manner such as:  listening to something for a class on the internet or listening to a taped lecture. 

• All work on the computer should be academic in nature.  No social media (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.), no personal emails, no checking on sport-related stats (high school, college, or professional), etc.  Emails to or from an instructor are permitted.

• Please no writing, drawing, painting or coloring on desks or tables.  Violators will be banned from the area and may incur the financial cost to repair the property.

• Please cooperate with the Student Athlete Academic Center by respecting and observing the rules listed above.  Our staff will enforce the above rules and violators will be asked to leave.  Coaches will be notified when student-athletes violate the rules.
