University of Louisiana at Lafayette Athletics
Prospective Student Athletes
Who is a Prospective Student Athlete?
A prospective student athlete is a student who has begun the ninth grade.
Also, even a student who has not begun the ninth grade can become a prospective student athlete if UL Lafayette has provided any financial assistance or other benefits to that student or their relatives or friends that they would not provide to the general public or another prospective student.
A prospective student-athlete becomes a recruited prospective student athlete if any coach or representative of the Ragin’ Cajuns athletics interests (booster or representative) approaches them or their relatives about enrolling and participating in athletics. Activities by coaches or boosters that cause a prospective student-athlete to become a recruited prospective student athlete are:
-
Providing them with an official visit;
-
Placing more than one telephone call to them or any other member of their family; or
-
Visiting them or any other member of their family anywhere other than the college campus.
