All-American first baseman has developed into one of the best run-producers
in school history...Came back after illness-plagued ‘99 season to post
team-best 73 hits last year...Also steady defensively, made only two errors
last year.
2000: Became 28th All-American selection after run-producing
campaign...Also one of six Ragin' Cajuns selected to inaugural All-Sun Belt
Conference team…Finished second on team in average, 10 points behind
All-American Tiffany Clark and was third on team in home runs…Her 24 career
homers ranks her sixth in the all-time Cajun list…Also finished second to
Clark in RBIs with 54, giving her back-to-back 50-plus RBI seasons…One of
four Ragin' Cajuns to start all 60 games in 2000…Had 15 multi-RBI games,
including three four-RBI performances…Had 21 multi-hit games while posting
a .386 batting average…Complied a career-best 13-game hitting streak from
March 11-25…Committed only two errors in 435 chances for a .995 fielding
percentage…Clutch performer hit .429 with the bases loaded and .398 with
runners in scoring position and led team with 21 two-out RBIs.
1999: Enjoyed another solid season after incredible freshman
campaign...Tied Kathy Morton’s 1994 school record of 68 RBIs in
season...Averaged 1.06 RBIs per game (tied for fifth nationally)...Third on
team in average (.362) and was second on squad in doubles (19), total bases
(119) and slugging percentage (.607)...Had 21 multiple-hit games and led
team with 18 multiple-RBI games...In first game of NCAA Regionals against
Manhattan, was 3-for-4 with four RBIs...Had five RBIs Feb. 21 against Sam
Houston State in 13th La. Classics Tournament...Despite suffering severely
from the flu, was 3-for-4 with two home runs and five RBIs against McNeese
State in second game of doubleheader March 2 to lift Ragin' Cajuns to
win...Had two home runs and seven RBIs in Lady Vol Classic April 23 through
25...Had three hits on six occassions and had three RBIs or more nine
times...For second consecutive season, was named first team All-South
Region and first-team All-Louisiana.
1998: Had one of best freshman campaigns in school history...Led
Ragin'
Cajuns in six offensive categories, including average (.395), home runs
(7), RBIs (49), slugging percentage (.651) and total bases (99)... Struck
out just 11 times in 163 plate appearances...Had 15 multiple-hit games and
14 multiple-RBI games...Posted .995 fielding percentage in 398 total
chances with the glove...First-year honors included first-team All-South
and All-Louisiana...Went 4-for-4 with a grand slam, eight RBIs and three
runs scored against Southeastern La. April 2.
High School: Four-year softball standout at Olathe South HS ...Honored with
All-League four years and All-Metro perfromer three years...Helped lead
Falcons to 1996 state championship...Also played basketball one
year...Honor Roll student.
Personal: Born Aug. 13, 1979 in Olathe, Kan.,...Parents are George and
Judy Mower...Has one older sister, Michele...Majoring in general
studies...Used to play the violin...Favorite TV show is King of Queens...
