of the 2003 All-Sun Belt Conference Second Team...Member of the 2003 Verizon
Academic All-District VI Second Team...Is the only four-year letterwinner on the
Ragin’ Cajuns squad...It was her high fly ball in the second inning
against Cal State Fullerton that was misplayed by CSF left fielder Julie Watson
and landed mere inches fair that allowed Brittany Bryant to score the winning
run in a 1-0 Cajuns win over the Titans and advance UL Lafayette into the
winner’s bracket finals ...Has made just three errors at first base in 329
chances this season for a .991 fielding percentage; went 50 straight games
without committing an error - made first error in Sun Belt Tournament title
game...Had a season-high seven-game hitting streak Feb. 19-March 2, a
span in which she hit 8-for-19 (.421)...Hit her lone home run of the season
March 1 against Notre Dame giving the Cajuns a 2-1 lead in the third inning and
eventually providing the two-run cushion in a 5-3 win...Hit two doubles against
McNeese State Feb. 28...Had a key two-out double off of the left field wall in
the Cajuns come-from-behind win over McNeese State April 29 and scored the tying
run on the next at bat...Led off the eighth inning of the Cajuns 1-0 win over
Western Kentucky May 3 with a double which set up Becky McMurtry for the
game-winning RBI...Was 2-for-3 with a double and one RBi in the Cajuns 6-0 win
over FIU in the SBC Tournament semifinals.
2002: Was named to the All-Sun Belt Conference first team at first base...Also a member of the District VI Verizon Acadmeic All-American First Team...Has maintained a 3.959 cumulative GPA as an exercise science major...This season was her first at first base, moving over from third base with the addition of All-American Becky McMurtry at third base...Had a career-high .295 batting average...Hit a career-high 13 doubles this season, after combining for just 11 her freshman and sophomore seasons...Also had career highs for base hits (54) and total bases (76)...Hit her first home run since her freshman season with a two-run shot against Nicholls State March 27 at Lady Cajun Park...Three home runs this season ties a career-high....Was 2-for-4 with a home run, double and six RBIs April 14 at Middle Tennessee...Had 11 multi-hit games this season...Was 4-for-5 with four RBIs in a 17-7 win over New Mexico State April 20...Drove in game-winning run in extra-inning wins over Louisiana-Monroe (April 24) and Florida International (April 27)...Her 29 RBIs were three shy of her career high 32 in her freshman season.
2001: Set school record with 157 assists at third base...Showed toughness by playing final part of season with dislocated finger...Had two three-hit games and seven multi-RBI contests...Was key in leading Lady Cajuns to four-game Sun Belt sweep of Western Kentucky...Went 7-for-17 with five RBIs...Also went 3-for-3 with an RBI in win over Houston March 4.
2000: Second-team All-Sun Belt pick as a freshman…Broke into starting
lineup and remained there for 58 of team’s 60 games…Became integral part of
team after two-year starter Heather Bertrand suffered a broken finger
midway through the season….Went 4-for-4 to set a career high for
hits…Scored career-high three runs and knocked home career-best six against
Southern…Had three three-RBI games during freshman season…Drove in
game-winning run against Florida in consolation championship game of Silver
Bracket at NFCA Leadoff Classic…Tagged first collegiate home run against
then-No. 24 Michigan State in Louisiana Classics Tournament…Had season and
career-best six-game hitting streak from April 16-28, which included a
2-for-2, 3-RBI performance against Louisiana Tech in first game of
inaugural Sun Belt Conference Tournament at Lady Cajun Park.
High School: Won four letters as third baseman/catcher at Lafayette
High...Team had three state playoff appearance while there, including
finishing as the 5A state runner-ups in ‘98...Was an All-American selection
sophomore year...Three-time All-State selection...Was voted most athletic
during senior year...Selected as team’s most valuable player senior year
along with being named team’s best defensive player three times...Was also
named to Homecoming court...Member of Student Council, Beta Club, FCA and
was vice president of SADD.
