Louisiana Places 221 Student-Athletes on 2025-26 SBC Academic Awards List

LAFAYETTE – A total of 221 Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns student-athletes were among more than 3,200 student-athletes honored Friday as the Sun Belt Conference announced its Commissioner's List, Academic Honor Roll and 1A FAR Academic Excellence Awards for the 2025-26 academic year.

Louisiana placed 10 members on the prestigious 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award List which honors student-athletes who earned their undergraduate degrees and compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.8 or better upon graduation.
Â
Named to the list were – Reem Tammam, Emma Bacilla and Skylar Delgado (women's track and field), Angelique Berrat (women's tennis), John Walker McDonald, Peyton Chaisson and Timothy Gale (men's track and field), Sisley Stephens (women's soccer), and McKayla Ferguson and Cecilia Vasquez (softball).

Louisiana placed 127 student-athletes on the SBC Commissioner's List and 84 members on the SBC Academic Honor Roll.

The Commissioner's List honors student-athletes who earned a 3.5 grade point average (GPA) or better during the 2025-26 academic year while the Academic Honor Roll honors those student-athletes who maintained a GPA between 3.00 and 3.49 for the academic year.
