2026 Sun Belt Conference Softball Championship Game Elevated to ESPN2 Broadcast

NEW ORLEANS — The Sun Belt Conference, in conjunction with ESPN, announced that the title game of the 2026 Sun Belt Softball Championship scheduled for Saturday, May 9 will be televised nationally on ESPN2 at 2:30 p.m. ET/1:30 p.m. CT.
The Sun Belt's championship game will air on ESPN2 for the second consecutive season after last season's finale between Coastal Carolina and James Madison in Troy, Ala., was televised on the network.
Hosted by Louisiana, all preceding games in this season's tournament will be produced by the Sun Belt on ESPN+. First round games begin on Wednesday, May 6 at Yvette Girouard Field at Lamson Park.
Sun Belt softball programs have earned 22 NCAA Tournament berths over the past 11 seasons, as three different programs have secured the Sun Belt's automatic bid in each of the last three seasons. Coastal Carolina won the 2025 championship and became the first No. 7 seed to win the crown.
Texas State won the 2024 tournament on its home field in San Marcos, while Louisiana secured the 2023 title at home.
