Sophomore running back one of two student-athletes named to 19-member group
LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns running back Bill Davis has been selected to serve on the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) Oversight Committee, the organization announced this week. Davis' term began on October 7, 2025, and continues through August 31, 2026.
Â
The Division I FBS Oversight Committee oversees the administration and governance of FBS football. Working closely with conferences and member institutions, the committee ensures that rules, policies and championship structures are applied fairly and consistently across the subdivision. Its focus areas include enhancing the student-athlete experience, monitoring health and safety matters, and addressing issues unique to FBS football.
Â
Davis, one of two student-athlete representatives named to the 19-member committee, joins Louisiana Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Bryan Maggard, and Sun Belt Conference Commissioner Keith Gill.
Â
The LaPlace, La., native and former Riverside Academy product has been a key contributor for the Ragin' Cajuns' offense and an active participant in both campus and community initiatives. Davis was named to the 2024 CSC Academic All-District team and was selected to the 2025 Doak Walker Preseason Watch List.
Â
On the season, Davis is second on the team and 11th among Sun Belt Conference rushers with 314 yards and three touchdowns on the season.
