Potgieter Earns Third-Team All-Sun Belt Honors

NEW ORLEANS – Louisiana's Malan Potgieter earned postseason honors for the second straight year when he was named on Monday as a third-team selection on the 2024 Sun Belt Conference Men's Golf team, announced by the league office.

A second-team selection in 2022-23, Potgieter finished in a tie with Ragin' Cajuns teammate Eli Ortego for team medalist honors with a 72.58 scoring average (71.9 adjusted) in 36 rounds of play.

Potgieter recorded four top-20 finishes on the season for Louisiana and one top-5 performance. He posted a team-high seven rounds in the 60's during the season, posting a 5-under-67 in three events.

He recorded 20 rounds of par or better on the season with his best finish coming at the Aggie Invitational where he placed fourth overall (3-over-219).

Potgieter placed in the top-20 in three straight events during the fall – the GMAC Invitational (t20 - 216), USF Invitational (t14 - 213) and Everett Buick GMC Classic (t13 - 213).
