November RCAF Investor of the Month - Keith and Allison Blanchard
11/4/2024 11:00:00 AM | RCAF
Keith and Allison met and started dating while in high school, despite attending rival schools in Ascension Parish. Allison began her college journey at UL and Keith transferred there after his freshman year at Centenary College. Allison earned her bachelor's degree in education and has dedicated the past 23 years to teaching primary school in Ascension Parish. Keith completed his bachelor's degree in business administration and later returned to UL to obtain his MBA. He has spent his entire career in Information Technology and is currently the Acting CIO and CTO for Amedisys.
During his college years, Keith was active in the Student Government Association for the College of Business. He co-authored the student resolution for the name change to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Though he often shares the story of getting the UL administration to add full-sized desks in classrooms to accommodate left-handed students.
Keith and Allison are proud parents of two children who are as passionate about the vermilion and white as their parents. Their daughter is currently a sophomore at UL, and their son, a sophomore in high school, is one of the loudest fans cheering on the Cajuns.
There are several favorite moments in Keith and Allison's fanhood. One standout memory is the rain-drenched shutout victory in Coach Bustle's first year against UAB, which convinced them to become football season ticket holders. Another unforgettable moment was watching Tyrell Fenroy run all over ULM in 2008. However, the most memorable moment has to be the winning field goal in the 2011 New Orleans Bowl, which effectively signaled a new era in Cajun athletics.
Keith and Allison are hopeful to see continued growth and success for Louisiana Athletics. They envision more championship victories, increased support from the community, and enhanced facilities that will continue to attract top talent. They also appreciate the strong emphasis on academic excellence for student-athletes, ensuring they are well-prepared for life beyond sports.
They are incredibly grateful for the friendships and memories made through their involvement with Louisiana Athletics. The sense of community and pride as a part of the Ragin' Cajuns family is unmatched. They look forward to many more years of cheering on UL and supporting the university that has given them so much.
