Landry was a four-year letterman in football and received all-conference honors twice

Meet the October RCAF Investor of the Month, Gerald Landry.

Gerald attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana where he received a B.S. in Marketing and a M.A. in Education in 1966. During his time at USL, he was a four-year letterman in football, receiving All-Conference honors two of those years. Landry holds UL Lafayette records in most extra points and consecutive field goals as well as leading scorer and receiver. In 2003, he was inducted into the Louisiana Athletics Hall of Fame for his outstanding achievements as a USL football student-athlete.

Gerald is proud to share that he coached football for USL in the early 70's while also becoming the first academic advisor for Louisiana Athletics. Landry is thankful for the opportunities he has received throughout his career from his time as a USL student-athlete and coach. He chooses to give back to the RCAF so he can help give current Louisiana student-athletes the same fulfilling experience and opportunities that he had.

Gerald and his wife also choose to give back to the university through the Terri Landry/State Farm Endowed First Generation Scholarship within the B.I. Moody III College of Business.

Landry says his most memorable Louisiana Athletics moment was when he achieved holding the record for the longest field goal in UL history as well as scoring 19 points and completing two touchdowns during a USL Homecoming football game.

Thank you Gerald, for your loyal support to the RCAF and Louisiana student-athletes!
