Louisiana Softball Selected to Compete in 2023 TaxAct Clearwater Invitational

Ragin' Cajuns part of highly competitive field for one of collegiate softball's top tournaments
LAFAYETTE - The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Softball team has been selected to compete in the 2023 TaxAct Clearwater Invitational Presented by EvoShield, February 16-19, 2023 in Clearwater, Fla., ESPN Events' owned-and-operated annual softball tournament.
Known as one of Division I Softball's premier tournaments, the TaxAct Clearwater Invitational will be held at the Eddie C. Moore Complex with all games televised across the ESPN family of networks.
Tickets for the tournament will go on sale this fall. Louisiana's schedule of games for the event will also be released this fall. For more information visit www.clearwaterinvitational.com.
The 16-team field for the 2023 TaxAct Clearwater Invitational Presented by EvoShield features 15 teams which qualified for the NCAA Softball Tournament, including three programs – Arizona, Oklahoma State and UCLA – which advanced to the Women's College World Series.

ABOUT LOUISIANA
In his fifth season at the helm of Louisiana Softball, Gerry Glasco molded a lineup that featured at most two upperclassmen and as many as five freshmen into championship and NCAA Tournament team. He guided Louisiana to third consecutive Sun Belt Conference regular season and tournament championship and the program's 23rd consecutive 40-win season, culminating in extending the storied program's streak of consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances (now 23 straight) and advancement to Championship Sunday of an NCAA Regional (14th straight appearance).
The Ragin' Cajuns placed a conference-high nine players on the All-Sun Belt team, recorded a program-record .351 season batting average and generated the most home runs in Glasco's tenure (82).
