Louisiana remains in eighth place after 36 holes; tees off beginning at 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday
GULF SHORES, Ala. – Matt Weber tied his career-low round with a 1-under-par 71 and the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Golf team remained in eighth place after the second day of the 2022 Craft Farms Intercollegiate on Monday on the Cotton Creek Course at Craft Farms Golf Club.
The final round of the 54-hole tournament will begin on Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. Live results will be available at GolfStat.com.
Louisiana, which will be paired for the second consecutive day with Lamar and Oakland (Mich.) and tee off beginning at 8:15 a.m., posted a team score of 4-over 292 to finish at 585 after 36 holes and one stroke behind Lamar.
Weber, who posted a 1-under-71 at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate and Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate, recorded a pair of birdies on the back nine and finished at 1-under-35 at the turn. The redshirt-freshman posted a bogey-free round on the front nine, finishing at 3-over 147 after 36 holes and moving up 26 spots on the leaderboard into 23rd place.
Charlie Flynn recorded an even-par 72 to move into a tie for 13th place (73-72-145) for Louisiana. The junior opened the day with a birdie at the No. 10 tee and recorded his lone bogey at the par-4, No. 6. Peter Hinnant posted his second straight round of 1-over 73 for Louisiana to finish in 21st place at 2-over-146 with Jake Marler (71-81-152) and Eli Ortego (77-76-153) following.
Tournament host and first-day leader South Alabama extended its lead in the 13-team field after posting a team score of 279 and finishing at 556. Oral Roberts was 20 strokes back at 576 with Georgia State (577), Southern Illinois (578) and Rice (578) finishing the day in the top five.
South Alabama's Jack Hearn, the first-day co-leader, moved ahead of Southern Illinois' Matthis Besard after posting a 6-under-66 to finish at 133 after two rounds. Besard carded a second straight round of 5-under 67 to finish one stroke back in the individual standings at 134.
