Seven Ragin' Cajuns players/alums make cut into final two rounds
NEW ORLEANS – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns golfer Cole Kendrick recorded his second below-par round on Friday, posting a 1-under 71 and finishing in a tie for fifth place after the second round of the 101st Louisiana Amateur Championships on Friday at Bayou Oaks at City Park South Course.

Seven of nine players with ties to the Ragin' Cajuns program made the cut after the first 36 holes, highlighted by Kendrick, incoming freshman Jake Marler and current teammates Matt Weber and Charlie Flynn. Ragin' Cajuns alums Andrew Noto (2008-12), Colin Troxler (2017-19)Â and Seth Dufrene (2007-10) all advanced to the weekend's final 36 holes, which will conclude on Sunday.

Kendrick, who opened the tournament with a 2-under 70 on Thursday, finished as one of five golfers in the 142-player field to record below-par rounds during the first two days after posting a 1-under 71. Kendrick finished the day at 3-under 141 and four strokes behind second-day leader Buck Williams (69-68-137) of New Orleans.

Marler, the first-day leader after shooting a 4-under 68, posted a 2-over 74 in the second round and finished in a tie for seventh at 2-under 142. Weber (71-76-147) remained in the top-30 after the first two rounds with Flynn (73-77-150) finishing in a tie for 49th.
