More than $500,000 raised by Ragin’ Cajuns Athletics in lead-up to baseball and softball seasons

LAFAYETTE - Louisiana Athletics has surpassed the $500,000 mark as fundraising efforts for diamond sport venue enhancements and facility upgrades have picked up momentum in 2020, Director of Athletics Bryan Maggard announced on Thursday.

"Our supporters of Ragin' Cajuns Baseball and Softball are tremendously committed to impacting the lives of our student-athletes and enhancing the overall experience at our sport venues," Maggard said. "We thank these supporters for their continued investment in the Ragin' Cajuns, as we look to give Coach Matt Deggs and Coach Gerry Glasco the tools necessary to compete for and win championships."

Enhancements at M.L. 'Tigue' Moore Field at Russo Park have included a new, padded outfield wall and the installation of TrackMan Baseball pitch tracking equipment in the ballpark. Additionally, the stadium club area of the facility received an upgraded bar area and aesthetic improvements.

Fundraising efforts for a new baseball clubhouse at Russo Park are also currently underway. Additionally, the recently completed videoboard project at Yvette Girouard Field at Lamson Park has added an exciting new element to the venue's outstanding fan experience.
