Ragin’ Cajuns earn same ranking in both the AP Poll and Amway Coaches Poll
LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Football returned to the national rankings for the third time this season after being voted No. 23 in both the Associated Press Top 25 Poll and the USA Today Amway Coaches Poll.
Â
The Ragin' Cajuns are the only Sun Belt Conference program ranked in both Week 5 polls and are the third-highest ranked Group of 5 team in both polls behind Cincinnati and SMU.
Â
Louisiana has not played since Saturday, Sept. 26, when it defeated Georgia Southern, 20-18, at Cajun Field. The team was supposed to play its next contest on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at Appalachian State, but it was postponed due to positive COVID-19 tests and contact tracing within the Mountaineers' football program.
Â
With its new national rankings, the Ragin' Cajuns will now host Coastal Carolina at Cajun Field on Saturday, Oct. 10. The game, which was previously scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17, was moved up one week in order to minimize downtime for both football programs.
Â
Single-game tickets are currently not available for the Coastal Carolina game. Changes in availability will be communicated by the Department of Athletics as quickly as possible.
