Wisnoskie Powers Team Vermilion in Louisiana Volleyball's Scrimmage

LAFAYETTE – Team Vermilion collected a 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 18-16) win as Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Volleyball concluded its first week of preseason camp on Saturday with the Vermilion-White Scrimmage at Earl K. Long Gym.
Preseason All-Sun Belt selection Hali Wisnoskie paced Team Vermilion's efforts with a match-high 21 kills on a .327 hitting percentage. Wisnoskie, who had at least five kills each set, helped set the tone with nine kills in the opening frame and sealed the win with seven kills in the final stanza.
Other top offensive performances included freshman Kara Barnes' six kills off eight swings and six kills apiece from senior Dree'Ana Abram and freshman Celeste Darling.
Avery Breaux handed out a match-high 25 assists in directing Team Vermilion's offense. She added four kills and 14 digs to her stat line.
The two squads totaled 15 blocks with Barnes' five (1 BS, 4 BA) leading the way.
Wisnoskie also posted match-high honors with 21 digs. Milayne Danna and Hannah Ramirez contributed 12 digs each while competing at libero.

Fans will have an opportunity to interact with the team during Fan Day festivities at the Cajundome Convention Center on Sunday, Aug. 18 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
LOOKING AHEAD
Louisiana travels to Houston on Saturday, Aug. 24 for a 4 p.m. exhibition match at Houston Baptist.
The following week, Louisiana officially begins the 2019 season by kicking off a season-opening, seven-match homestand Friday-Saturday, Aug. 30-31 with the DoubleTree Classic at Earl K. Long Gym.
