Tolson Named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar

Senior is 22nd Ragin' Cajun golfer to earn national academic honors

LAFAYETTE – Louisiana's Jack Tolson was one of a record 540 student-athletes named as a 2019 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar in a release by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Wednesday.
 
Tolson, a senior from Lafayette, posted a 74.0 scoring average in 27 rounds of play during the 2018-19 season. Tolson opened the spring season with a back-to-back 1-under 71 at the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate and capped off the season with a 2-under 214 at the Sun Belt Conference Championships.
 
Tolson became the 13th Ragin' Cajuns golfer to earn All-America Scholar honors and the 22nd golfer to earn national academic honors.
 
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically in Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their Associate's Degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA.
 
In addition, they participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, 78.0 in Division II, 78.0 in NAIA and 79.0 in Division III, 77.0 in NJCAA, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
