Total of 15 selections for the Ragin’ Cajuns on Athlon’s 2019 preseason All-Sun Belt teams
LAFAYETTE -Â Excitement for the 2019 edition of Louisiana Football will start at the highest levels as preseason recognitions and awards begin to roll in for the Ragin' Cajuns. Athlon Sports sees plenty to look forward to from head coach Billy Napier's squad this upcoming season, with Louisiana ranking second in the Sun Belt Conference with 15 overall selections to the magazine's preseason all-conference team.

Earning spots on Athlon's Preseason All-Sun Belt First Team were four Ragin' Cajuns: senior RB Raymond Calais (Breaux Bridge, La.), senior OL Kevin Dotson (Plaquemine, La.), senior OL Robert Hunt (Burkeville, Texas) and junior RB Trey Ragas (New Orleans, La.).

Calais and Ragas helped give Louisiana one of the most dynamic backfields in the country last season, pairing their talents with junior RB Elijah Mitchell (Erath, La.), a Preseason All-Sun Belt Second Team selection. The most returning rushing yards (2,912) between any rushing trio in the entire Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) resides on the shoulders of the tandem of Ragas (1,181), Mitchell (977) and Calais (754).
