Annual summer activities fair and family fitness expo features the same great attractions in a new location
LAFAYETTE -Â The eighth annual Ragin' Cajuns Fan & Family PLAYday is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Soccer & Track Facility (111 Reinhardt Drive).

Ragin' Cajuns Fan & Family PLAYday is an annual event presented by Southwest Louisiana Area Health Education Center (SWLAHEC), Our Lady of Lourdes Women's & Children's Hospital, Park Place Surgical Hospital and Louisiana Athletics. It features a rock wall, obstacle course, exercise demonstrations, fun jumps, healthy snacks and more.

Mom and Dad, still on the hunt for a summer camp for the little ones? Ragin' Cajuns Fan & Family PLAYday is the place to find just the right fit. More than 30 summer camps are scheduled to participate. Each will offer an activity and information on their summer programs, so you can secure the perfect match for your little one this summer.

The Louisiana Passenger Safety Task Force will offer free car seat safety checks throughout the four-hour event. The Lafayette Police Department will have motorcycle officers. Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office is set to perform K-9 demonstrations, and the Lafayette Fire Department will be on hand with invaluable information on ways to keep your family safe.

The best part? There is no cost to attend. The event is free and open to the public. Families, especially those with children in grades Pre-K to 5, are encouraged to attend together to enjoy the various activities and learn as a family about ways to have fun this summer while staying away from the common pitfalls of video games, television and high-calorie snacks.

Free snacks and water will be available. Other food options will be available for sale, so families can plan to spend the four hours enjoying all the activities without having to worry about leaving the event to grab lunch.
