Pat Richards Named Associate Director of Sports Medicine for @RaginCajunsFB

LAFAYETTE - In continuation with Louisiana Athletics' emphasis on student-athlete welfare, Ragin' Cajuns Football head coach Billy Napier has announced the addition of Pat Richards to the staff as Associate Director of Sports Medicine.

Bringing a wealth of experience from the across the collegiate and professional ranks, Richards will work primarily with the football program.

Before joining Louisiana, Richards spent two seasons on the sidelines at Mississippi State as an assistant athletic trainer with the Bulldogs' football team. In that role, he was responsible for the day-to-day needs of Mississippi State's student-athletes in the training room.

Prior to Mississippi State, he served as a Certified Intern Athletic Trainer with Louisville's football team from 2015-16. Prior to that, Richards was a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer with Utah's football team from 2013-15. He also received his Master's of Science in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Utah in May 2015.

Richards earned his Bachelor's of Science in Athletic Training from Texas Christian University (TCU) in May 2013. During his time at TCU, he completed an internship with the Dallas Cowboys during their 2012 preseason training camp and regular season.

A native of Dallas, Texas, Richards is a certified athletic trainer through the NATABOC and is licensed through the Mississippi State Department of Health.
