LAFAYETTE – Redshirt senior Kevin Dotson has been recognized as one of the top of offensive lineman in the country by Pro Football Focus (PFF) after he was named a First Team All-American by the national football analytics organization on Monday.
Â
This is not the first time Dotson has garnered high praise from PFF after he was named the highest-graded interior offensive lineman in the country with a mark of 91.2 on Nov. 23. He was also named to the PFF 2019 Midseason All-America Team and earned a spot on PFF's National Team of the Week on Nov. 10
Â
Dotson has been critical for Louisiana's elite rushing attack this season, which ranks first in the nation in yards per carry (6.55), third in rushing touchdowns (40) and sixth in total rushing yards (3,290). He is also a member of an offensive line that ranks eighth in the country in sacks allowed (1.17).
Â
A native of Plaquemine, La., he earned his 50th start on Louisiana's line, the most by any offensive lineman in the country along with Louisiana Tech's Ethan Reed.
Â
For the second-straight season, Louisiana will travel to Boone, N.C., to face Appalachian State in the 2019 Sun Belt Championship Game. Kickoff from Kidd Brewer Stadium is slated for 11 a.m. and will be nationally televised on ESPN. More information on the game, including ticket information, can be found here.
