ESPN to Broadcast 2019 Sun Belt Football Championship Game

NEW ORLEANS – ESPN has been designated as the broadcast network for the 2019 Sun Belt Conference Football Championship Game on Saturday, Dec. 7. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. CT/Noon ET immediately following college football's premier pregame show, ESPNCollege GameDay.

East Division champion Appalachian State and West Division champion Louisiana have already secured spots in this year's championship. The site of the game is yet to be determined. Appalachian State earns the right to host with a win in its regular-season finale at Troy on Friday, Nov. 29. Louisiana earns the right to host with a win in its regular-season finale against ULM on Saturday, Nov. 30, combined with an Appalachian State loss.

The inaugural Sun Belt Football Championship Game carried live on ESPN was one of the highest-rated football games in conference history and was the 15th-highest rated cable program on Dec. 1, 2018, in the United States. The Mountaineers prevailed 30-19 at Kidd Brewer Stadium in Boone, N.C., with running back Darrynton Evans garnering Most Valuable Player honors with his 218-yard, all-purpose performance that included 111 rushing yards and a 97-yard kickoff return.
