LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns golf team finished the Louisville Cardinal Classic in 11th place on Sunday with an overall score of 15-over par (867) at the par-71, 7,101-yard University of Louisville Golf Club.
Duke claimed the team title with a 54-hole score of 37-under (815), while Alex Smalley was the wire-to-wire individual champion with a score of 16-under (197).
Sliman's Thoughts
"Not the finish that we were looking for from a responding standpoint from earlier in the week. We had some moments with some really good stuff, especially in the second round where we beat some good perennial teams. Unfortunately, golf is three rounds and not just one. Very pleased with what we have seen from our newcomers in Charlie and Hudson. They have both shown up ready to play, and it's only a matter of time before they put together a solid three rounds.
"I have the upmost confidence in the guys at home and the ones here. I know this team learned a lot this week. We learned areas that we need to get better, but we also learned that when we play solid golf we can play with anyone. We just need to learn and apply as we continue the season."
Flynn And Dubinski Lead Louisiana
Freshmen Charlie Flynn and Hudson Dubinski topped the Louisiana lineup at the Louisville Cardinal Classic finishing in a tie for 38th at 3-over par (216). Flynn carded the best round of the day with a 72 (+1).

The Ragin' Cajuns continue the fall slate on Sept. 24-25 at the Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio for the Inverness Intercollegiate. Louisiana then heads to the David Toms Intercollegiate from Oct. 6-7 hosted at the University Club in Baton Rouge, La.
