Glueck, Morrow Second In Combined Events At Bobcat Invitational

Combined events conclude Friday, field events begin at 1
SAN MARCOS, Texas – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns track and field athletes Sven Glueck and Alex Morrow each took advantage of a solid first day in combined events as the duo finished in second place in their respective disciplines on Thursday at the Bobcat Invitational at the Bobcat Track and Field Stadium.
The final five events of the decathlon and final three events in the heptathlon will begin on Friday at 8:30 a.m., with field events set for 1 p.m. and running events at 5. The final day will begin on Saturday at 9 a.m., with the women's javelin before running events start at 3 p.m.

Competing in the decathlon, Glueck scored 3,616 points to finish the first day 33 points behind Texas State's Ben Collerton. Glueck crept up the standings in the second event after finishing second in the long jump (21-10 ½) before claiming the high jump (6-7) and finishing second in the 400-meters (50.83).
Morrow, who scored 2,814 points through four events in the women's heptathlon, finished second overall in both the 100-meter hurdles (15.13) and high jump (5-2 ¼) while finishing third in both the shot put (31-9 ½) and 200-meter dash (26.34) to finish behind SMU's Anna Novosadova (2,859).
Chandler Mixon took advantage of a first-place time of 10.94 in the 100-meter dash to finish the first day in third place in the men's decathlon with 3,510 points.
Louisiana's Richard Delphin finished 16th in a crowded field in the discus after recording a throw of 149-3.
