LAFAYETTE - Wednesday's scheduled midweek game featuring the No. 9 Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns softball team and Houston at Lamson Park has been canceled.
Field conditions are unfavorable for competition due to heavy rains the past three days, dating back to Sunday, and the possibility exists for additional rain this afternoon.
The Ragin' Cajuns-Cougars contest will not be rescheduled.
No. 9 Louisiana (32-5, 15-3 Sun Belt) returns to Sun Belt Conference play this weekend in Boone, N.C., visiting Appalachian State Saturday-Sunday, April 18-19 for the first-ever Sun Belt series between the two programs. The games are being broadcast on SportsRadio ESPN-1420 and espn1420.com with Steve Peloquin calling the action.
