Ragin’ Cajuns to Host Clinic with National Pro Fastpitch All-Stars

LAFAYETTE – The Ragin' Cajuns softball team is scheduled to host an all-skills clinic alongside the National Professional Fastpitch All-Stars at Leon Moncla Indoor Practice Facility from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20.

Camp Schedule:

9:00-9:45 a.m. Slapping with Ashley Charters

Charters: USSSA Pride, Washington, 2009 National Champion, three-time All-American and First Team All Pac-10.

10:00-10:45 a.m. Fielding with Jenn Salling, Angeline Quiocho, and GiOnna DiSalvatore

Salling: USSSA Pride, Washington, three-time All-American, All-PAC 10, and 2009 National Champion, participated in the 2008 Olympics with Canada.

DiSalvatore: Carolina Diamonds, UCLA, two-time All-American, four-time All Pac-10.

Quiocho: Carolina Diamonds, BYU, Mountain West Player of the Year, three-time All-MWC.

11:00-11:45 a.m. Hitting with Kelly Kretschman and Andrea Duran

Kretschman: USSSA Pride, Alabama, Olympic silver medalist, gold medalist at Pan American Games, World Cup Champion, Olympic Gold Medalist, alternate on the 2000 Olympic gold medal team, four-time NFCA All-American, member of WCWS All-Tournament team.

Duran: USSSA Pride, UCLA, Olympic silver medalist, two-time national champion, Pac-10 player of the year.

Following this clinic, the NPF All-Stars will play a 7-inning exhibition game at 5:00 p.m. against the Ragin' Cajuns softball team. Those participating receive FREE admission into the game.

Cost for the camp is $15 per session or $30 for all three.

Suggested items to bring: Glove, cleats, bat, practice clothes, tennis shoes, and helmet.

·       Brittany Mack (USSSA Pride, LSU, All-American and SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year)
·       Kristyn Sandberg (USSSA Pride, Georgia, All-American)
·       Hillary Bach (Akron Racers, ASU, three-time First Team Pac-12 All-Academic)
·       Kaylyn Castillo (Akron Racers, ASU, Second Team All Pac-10 honors)
·       Nikia Williams (USSSA Pride, Washington, All-American, First Team All-Pac 10)

Individual game tickets go on sale Monday, Oct. 8. Prices are $18 reserved grandstand and $10 general admission.
