Softball Opens Fall Season This Weekend

The Ragin' Cajuns softball team begins the fall portion of the 2011-12 season with games on Saturday, Oct. 1 and Sunday, Oct. 2 in the Spring Klein College Classic at Collins Park in Spring, Texas.

Louisiana is set to open the Spring Klein College Classic on Saturday against Houston in a rematch of last season's Austin Regional final. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
Immediately after the Cajuns meet Texas State at 5:30 p.m.
On Sunday, UL faces Texas-San Antonio at 10 a.m., in the squad's final game of the tournament.
All of the Cajuns games can be seen on Field #2 at Collins Park. Admission is $7.00 for a weekend pass.
The Ragin' Cajuns softball team, coming off the 13th consecutive NCAA Regionals appearance and 13th consecutive 45-plus win season, lost only one player (Gabriele Bridges) off the 2011 squad that led the nation in runs scored with 481 (7.76 runs per game). Headlining the list of returnees is USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Finalist and current USA National team member Christi Orgeron and Capital One Academic All-American of the Year Ashley Brignac.
