Women's Tennis to Open Fall Season

The Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team opens its fall slate this weekend as the team heads to Natchitoches, La. for the NSU Lady Demons Invitational. The two-day tournament begins on Friday at the Jack Fisher Tennis Complex.
“The team has been working hard this fall and is excited to compete against some of the top teams from around the region,” said head women's tennis coach Greg Harkins. “All players on the roster will participate, and we look forward to seeing where we stand at the end of the weekend.”
The tournament field includes the host Northwestern State, Lamar, Southern Mississippi, La.-Monroe and Stephen F. Austin.
UL features an experienced squad with four upperclassmen in Briggitt Marcovich, Milou Israel, Audrey Wooland and transfer Erin Wilbert (Kansas).
Woodland and Israel are the top returners in victories, recording 17 and 14, respectively, during the 2010-11 season.
The Cajuns return home in two weeks for the Ragin' Cajuns Women's Classic at Cajun Courts inside the Culotta Center.
