Cajuns Set to Open 2011 Season at OSU

The Mark Hudspeth era officially begins this weekend when the Ragin' Cajuns football team opens the 2011 season at No. 9 Oklahoma State.
Louisiana and OSU kick off at 6:10 p.m. (CT) on Saturday, Sept. 3 at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, Okla. Click here to view the Cajuns game notes.
The season opener will be televised by Fox College Sports Central (Lafayette LUS Fiber 127, Cox Cable 256, DirecTV 617). Steve Physioc will call the action with Yogi Roth providing analysis and Desmond Purnell on the sidelines.
In preparation for Saturday's matchup, head coach Mark Hudspeth held his weekly media luncheon on Monday.

Hudspeth is the third UL head coach to debut against Oklahoma State as three of the last four football coaches have started their career versus the Cowboys.
This will be the eighth meeting between the Cajuns and Cowboys with the last contest in Stillwater, Okla. coming in 2003.
The teams met last season at Cajun Field in a nationally televised contest on ESPN2. UL forged ahead 21-17 at halftime, but the Cowboys rallied for victory in the second half.
Since the start of the 2008 season, the Cajuns are 13-3 when allowing 30 points or less. The Cajuns scored six offensive touchdowns that were greater than 25 yards in their three victories last season. UL managed just 7 offensive TDs of over 25 yards the rest of the season.
Mackey and Biletnikoff Award candidate Ladarius Green was named a Top 5 draft-eligible tight end by ESPN.com Insider Mel Kiper Jr., in the spring. Green ranks fourth all-time in career touchdowns (14) and needs 26 catches to reach fifth all-time in career receptions (98).
After Saturday's meeting with the Cowboys, the Cajuns will head to Kent State for a non-conference contest against the Golden Flashes on Saturday, Sept. 10 at 6 p.m. (CT).
