Senior golfer Andrew Noto recently made the cut at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Classic, a NGA Hooters Tour event, held at The Oaks Golf Club in Pass Christian, Miss. this weekend.

"I am very proud of Andrew and his performance this weekend," said head Ragin' Cajuns golf coach Theo Sliman. "Not only did Andrew qualify to play in the tournament, but he was able to raise his level of play and make it to the weekend."

"This was a great opportunity to learn for Noto, and serves as a building block for the upcoming season," Sliman added.

Noto was one of 68 players to make it past day two as he finished the tournament tied for 46th place overall three-under par (285). The Luling, La. native shot a tournament best 69 on both Friday and Saturday.

The senior comes into the 2011-12 season having made his first ever appearance in the NCAA tournament a year ago. He appeared with fellow senior Philipp Fendt at the NCAA Southeast Regional in Ocala, Fla.

The Cajuns open the season on Sept. 12 at the Sam Hall Intercollegiate in Hattiesburg, Miss.
